It May Be A Bit Earlier, But Here Are Some Holiday Decor Ideas Via HGTV.com

Recently I was asked, along with a group of wonderful bloggers, if I had any holiday decor ideas to share with HGTV.com readers. Yes, it is a big early (at least around my house!) to begin decorating for Christmas, but if planning ahead is your style here are some ideas for easy holiday decor.

Silver Bells

"Janell Beals dressed up a porcelain tray with bold accessories. Layer garland with a collection of colorful ornaments in your favorite tray to create an irresistible holiday centerpiece or sofa table addition. Janell used a mixture of silver, blue and gold for a unique twist on traditional Christmas hues."

Stocking Stuffers

"These natural, burlap-sack stockings are perfect for a cottage Christmas. White frill adorns the openings and softens the rough, burlap exterior. Stuff the stockings with fresh greenery and ornament balls for a decorative touch. Design by Holly Mathis and sewing by Michelle Fritz."

Starry and Bright

"Give your year-round candelabra a quick makeover. Add holiday-inspired candlesticks and wrap flashy gold garland around the frame for added drama. Janell Beals suggests adding pinecones and other natural elements to complete the look."

Warm Welcoming

"Create a warm and inviting entry for guests. Fill mason jars with Epsom salt for a snowy, winter look. Add small votive candles and line the walkway for a true holiday welcoming. Image courtesy of Melissa Michaels."

Warm and Festive

"Give a simple holiday update to an existing candle tray. Janell Beals wrapped glittery garland around the candles and scattered ornaments among the branches for a bright, colorful look. Use it as a centerpiece for a warm dining experience."

Delectable Decor

"Marian Parsons created a holiday wreath from Christmas fruits and natural accessories. "Adding fresh fruit and collected pinecones to an artificial wreath lends a more natural look," she says. When hung outside, cold weather will keep fruit fresh for a couple of weeks."

Blue Christmas

"Don't forget to decorate the stairs. Instead of a traditional green garland, opt for a flashy metallic version embellished with colorful ornaments for a hip look. Janell Beals says to wrap several lengths of festive garland around the handrail, then simply string on clusters of sparkling ornaments at the lower edge of the swags."

Christmas Countdown

"Share My Craft user Katie Watson came up with a creative way for children to count down the 25 days of Christmas. "Each envelope has a 'coupon' inside that is redeemable for something special (i.e., a family game night, a cup of hot chocolate, a piece of Christmas candy, Mom reading a book, etc.)," she says. It's not only a fun family activity, but a creative piece of holiday decor, too."
