First of all, a huge thanks for all the comments on yesterday's post!
And then, I just had to start today's post with a favorite photo of mine, taken at a wonderful little park in San Francisco. Pictured is a great group of ladies, all of us new mothers. I was so happy to have found these women, it was the first time I had stepped away from work since leaving collage and would have been completely lost without their support! This is when I met Tineke, who was taking time off from her career in high-tech sales. During this break from her job she helped a friend renovate a home, as well as began work on her own home. After returning to her "day" job she continued to oversee several renovations and eventually decided it was time to see if she could parlay these projects into a career in interior design.
As a result Artistic Designs For Living was formed, a full service design company that oversees a wide range of projects. Tineke has also begun a new venture under the name Tineke Designs, creating a line of green and customizable furniture that embraces the fresh lines, colors and fabrics she has become known for.
It is inspiring to see how Tineke has taken advantage of her experience in business and sales, along with a background in art, to build a strong business. It demonstrates how being passionate about your field, along with the willingness to work hard, can bring success!
Here are some examples of the work her firm does. I just love the use of color and fabrics! To view more see this post, as well as an Ideabook written for Houzz featuring Tineke's designs this past week.
It was great to catch up with Tineke last week and it has been fun to watch her career grow. I'm looking forward to seeing what projects she takes on next!
And about those DIY gift projects I had intended to post about today...with the kids home from school these last two days I'm behind schedule! But the items are looking good and I'll share the ideas with you the first of next week.
