Pretty Camellia

I am just amazed what beautiful flowers you can make using punches.  This is a camellia.  Using the instructions from the flower book available from Joan Garden's,  I created this pretty flower.   The border across the middle was made using a Martha Stewart border punch with a piece of pink ribbon layered on top.  I don't like to double trim around to the back on my borders, so I attached a strip of ScorTape  across the middle of my card, pressed down the ribbon, then trimmed it on each edge to fit perfectly.  It creates unwanted bulk by doing it this way.  I don't know what I would do without my ScorTape; I use it for so many things.

For the frame for this flower, I cut a Nestabilities Beaded Oval -- this is the largest one in the set.  The verse is from the JustRite "Loving Thoughts" set.  The oval was attached over the border using dimensional tape.  Pearls were added around the frame and in each corner.  A double bow was added to complete the card.

Have you been to Joan Garden's blog today?   She has just started holiday sales.  Today the sale includes Spellbinder products.  I'm sure you won't want to miss out on the great sales she will be posting this week.  You can check it out here.

Thanks for stopping by.
