"Update: This coffee table is attending Transformation Thursday at The Shabby Chic Cottage!"
Is there a better price tag than free?
This coffee table became my husbands when it was left behind in an apartment and given to him by the super. It remained in the before state for quite a few years until one day it struck me that it actually had potential! Why hadn't I noticed how it was made from beautiful wood with wonderfully simple lines before?
After years serving as our coffee table and then a table in the playroom it had taken a beating.
Bringing out its beauty was easy, requiring only a good sanding and a layer of Dark Walnut Minwax Stain.
It occupied the center of the living room for a time, but has now been moved under the window. Baskets will be placed underneath to store more magazines, product catalogs and fabric samples.
Are you wondering where this room is headed? The new furniture layout, allowing for a work space, will include a large round pedestal table placed in the middle of the room. A light fixture will be hung above for ample lighting and wonderfully comfortable seating will be placed around the table. Not only will this function as a place to get some work done, but after hours it can also be an inviting place to play board games with the kids. I can hardly wait for the room to be done!
