Dogwood

Tonight I have another card I created using punches from Joan's Gardens.  This is a dogwood flower.  The sentiment is from the JustRite "Kindness" stamp set  .  Two different Nestabilities were cut and layered; they are the Big Scalloped Ovals Sm and Labels Six.  The Labels Six die was attached with dimensionals down about a fourth of the way from the top of the Big Scalloped Oval.  A navy blue Sizzix flourish was layered on a piece of design paper from a Making Memories paper pad.  The die cuts were attached with dimensionals then the dogwood I created attached with glue.  Leaves from the Sizzix "Leaves w/branches die" were placed under the flower and between the layered Nesties.  A Martha Stewart Butterfly and some Dew Drops were added to complete the card.

This photo shows the dimension on the card.

This closeup shows how I drew lines on the leaves of the flower petals, with a stylus, to give it a realistic look. The tips of the petals were sponged with brown ink and the center sponged with yellow ink.  The tools from the Flower Tool kit were used to help shape the petals and stamens.   The stamen was created using the last three different punches shown below.

These are the four punches used to create the flower.

All the products I used to create this card can be purchased from Joan's Gardens.  Joan has told me that many of you have been ordering punches, the Flower Book and Flower Tool Kit and have asked for tutorials on how to create the flowers I am making with these punches, and I promise I will post them soon.   Once I post some of these tutorials, maybe one of Joan's Weekly Challenges can be to create a card, or project, using flowers you have created using these punches.  Would you enjoy that challenge?

I hope this week you are busy creating cards for this week's challenge at Joan's Gardens using only JustRite Stamps.  I know you will want a chance to win that grand prize that has been donated by JustRite  Stamps worth over $191.
