Today I wasn't sure what type card I wanted to make. I did something different -- I was flipping through one of the new KaiserCraft paper pads called "Secret Bird Society Collection" and created my card around one of the beautiful papers in this pad. This paper is a beautiful aqua color, which doesn't show up well in the photo. It also has some beautiful writing in the background. One of the new JustRite stamps matches the bird in the design paper so I used the Robin from the "Backyard Birds" stamp set. There are four different birds and borders with this set. You can purchase both the KaiserCraft paper pad and this JustRite stamp set from Joan's Gardens.
The designer paper was attached to a white card. The bird and border was stamped twice with Memento black ink and colored with Copic markers. Only the bird and a few leaves were colored on the second one because I wanted to cut them out to put them on dimensionals. The design was cut out with a scallop circle Nestie, embossed and sponged before taking it out of the die. Each scallop was pierced. The design was attached with dimensionals. I wanted to dress the card up a little so I made some aqua flowers out of vellum, trying to duplicate the delicate flowers in the border of the design. They were attached to the lower left side of the card. A pretty silk bow and some pearls were added to complete the card.
Joan has posted a lot of new items in her store. Hope you will go over and check it out. Also, have you checked out the fun challenge at Joan's Gardens this week?
Thanks for stopping by. See you tomorrow.
