A gift for you

Hello!

This is my latest card. It's my DT card for the August inspiration challenge at Magnolia-licious Challenge Blog.

Maria is the hostess for the month of August and she has chosen this picture to provide you with inspirations.

And to further inspire you, have a look at fabulous cards and projects that the other DT gals have created HERE!

I hope you will come and play along with us in our challenge.

Now...some details about my card.

This adorable Magnolia image is Secret Tilda from the A Merry Little Christmas Collection 2010. You can find her and all things Magnolia, including the mini version of this, at Magnolia-licious on-line store.

This type of card is called a buckle card. As you can see there is a piece of cardstock that serves as a belt and you insert it into a slot to secure the card.

The inside of my card is really what was inspired by Maria's picture.

The sight of those purses just suggested to me...SHOPPING!!! And the very best way to go shopping is if you have a gift card...LOL...then it doesn't cost you anything! Somebody else already paid for it...woo-hooooo. That's why I decided to make this into a gift-card holder also.

I have a Coluzzle template for various sizes of purses. I thought this would be perfect to hold a gift card and then inserted this into a pocket that I have created inside the card.

This image is called Tilda Goes Shopping from the Bon Voyage Collection 2010 which also can be found at Magnolia-licous on-line store.

Here are a few challenges that I am entering with this card:

Ornamental Tilda

Happy Tuesday!

A new challenge today for Magnolia-licious Challenge Blog--our Challenge#3. This is our December colour challenge and Chrissy has chosen the colours pink, blue and green. This is by DT card.

And if you hop over to the challenge blog here, you will see the fabulous cards created by the other DT ladies. Click on their names above the cards and it will take you to their personal blogs and you can read the details of their cards. Or you can click on their names on my side panel.

I hope you will join us in this colour challenge. The prize is a $25 Gift Certificate from Diana's store Magnolia-licious.

This adorable Tilda is called Tilda on Ornament and she is from the new A Merry Little Christmas Collection 2010, available from Diana's on-line store Magnolia-licious.

Oh, I'm also using this card for the following challenges:

7 Kids College Fund Challenge # 9 - Non-traditional Christmas colours.

Dutch Dare Card Challenge #92 - Christmas card/tag or ornament.

ABC DT Challenge Blog - Non-Traditional Holiday Colour Challenge.

This is called a buckle card. It's like a gate card, but you add a 'belt' to one side of the card that you insert through a slot/opening that you've cut out on the other side. This is to keep the two side closed. I first saw this type of card on Claudia's blog about a year and a half ago, but this is only my third buckle card. I should really do more of this--I like this style of card.

I've put another image inside the card. This is called Vintage Tilda from the same collection as the image I have used on the front of the card.

If you want to make this buckle cards, once you've decided on the width of your belt--you can make it any size you want (mine is 2 inches wide)-- make the slot/opening 1/8 inch wider .

Thanks so much for dropping by. I really do appreciate your visit during this busy time. I'm sure everybody's scrambling to get their Christmas cards and decorations ready in time. I'm getting a bit panicky myself...LOL.

Stamps: Tilda on Ornament and Vintage Tilda from Magnolia's A Merry Little Christmas Collection 2010 and so is the Merry Christmas sentiment, Swirl Spruce from Jingle Jangle Collection 2008, the pine branch image is from PSX, Holiday Season sentiment stamp from Inkadinkadoo.

DP's: Making Memories Garden Party Dots, DCWV 'Tis the Season Paper Pad.

Tools: Spellbinders Nestabilities Labels Four and Big Shot Machine.

Misc.: Recollections Autumn Pearls, Tim Holtz distressing ink pad Walnut Stain.

for you

Happy Wednesday everybody!

A new challenge blog for us Magnolia addicts, Just Magnolia--Happy Week Two! Their theme this week is a colour challenge, so no sketch to follow. Yes!!! as I've been meaning to do another buckle card. I first saw this card at Claudia's blog and love the style because it's different. If you wish to create one, you can go to her blog Pretty Pressings and she's posted the instructions and measurements to make your own card. Just type in "buckle card" in her 'search' box. I've made some alterations for my card however.

I love this combination of of pink and green. I started thinking of soft pink and pastel green, but found this Basic Grey paper instead with a brighter pink and sort of a lime green colours. (Although you can't really tell from the pictures. How come the cards in my pictures never look exactly like they do in real life? Agghh!! Must be my camera...or the lighting...or most likely it's just me!!! LOL)

I'm using this Heart Jumper Tilda. It was the very very first Tilda that I ever coloured. I was making a Valentine card and it was the only stamp I had with a heart in it at the time. It's still one of my favorites. Anyway, here's the pink and green card.

There's a strip of paper that fits into a slot like a belt, thus the name "buckle card"--I thought that was a very appropriate name.

And the inside of the card is decorated a bit also.

Have a very nice day!

Stamp: Magnolia #215 Heart Jumper Tilda
Designer Papers: Basic Grey Archangel, Momenta A Family Affair Relations, Making Memories (pink green white stripes--don't know the name)

Edwin Goes Mushroom Picking

First of all, I must tell you about the Magnolia Blog Candy Give Away by Claudia at her blog Pretty Pressings. You really must take a look at her site. You will be amazed. I mean simply amazed. She is one very talented lady. All her cards are simply gorgeous. I learned so much from visiting her blog.

Now on to the challenge at Bizzy Becs. The challenge is simply to create a male card. "It can have any Male theme or image stamped on it. It can be any colour. This one is totally up to you.. Must show some METAL somewhere.. " Perfect! As my brother's birthday is coming up in April, this card will go out to him.

This is the first chance I get of using these stamp (actually for most of my stamps, as I've just recently acquired my Magnolia stamps). The stamp is called Edwin picking mushrooms. I also found the perfect Metal piece for this card (at Michaels), a charm of what else...mushroom! So here's my card. Taa daa.....

The idea for this card actually came from Claudia's blog. She calls this type of cards "buckle cards". I like it--it's different. I think I must do another buckle card and this time using a Tilda image.

Stamps: Magnolia #118 Edwin Gathers Mushrooms and #443 Ink Cap Mushrooms
Designer Papers: Chatterbox Olive Poolhouse Paisley, Tile Stripe and Poolhouse Stripe
Charm: Blue Moon Beads Bits & Baubles Metal Charms
