What all happened in August?

Boy was our summer short this year! In August our sunshine appeared for the first time all summer and it was time to head out of town for short spells.

However I did manage to make one biggish thing I love and use every single day thus far.

I really encouraged myself creating a real piece of comfy furniture. The pallet sofa truly is made up of all pallet and reclaimed lumber pieces and it's a happy place we all gravitate towards when we need abit of down time. It's my very fav place for a quiet read.

I also flaunted these adorable little wooden buttons created from branches.

And then I shared how it was built from the ground up. The entire thing came from my own vision and made it to suit a mattress I found at the thrift.

Eating healthy is now a full blown habit, so it was a given to invent something to replace ice cream. These fresh blueberry yogurt popsicles will have you forgetting ice cream was even invented.

And a few gals shared their progress with Junk Loser.

The ever popular 3 themed weekend linkup party got hit big time with a massive chalkboard turnout. 112 to date to be exact! The beauty up above is one of the prettiest boards I've ever seen, by Ranger 911.

I finally shared a special blanket that is very near and dear to my heart. The flannel scraps are from my mom's own collection. My Aunt Edna surprised me with this lovely gift complete with a secret pocket.

Friend Heidi from The Red Dollar House gifted me with this lovely Fresh Cherries sign. So I made a new little vignette just for the sign. Thanks again Heidi! It travels around a lot and today I'm enjoying it in my kitchen. :)

Another fun weekend party had you bringing in projects that Funky Junk inspired you with. Nearly a dead ringer for my own picket toolbox, I'm just in LOVE with Rita May's take on it over at May Days.
Aren't her pickets fabulous?

Our first camping experience came with downtime, beauty and a very eventful happening when our dog suddenly fell ill. The campsite owners came to our rescue and we ended up with not only awesome friends but a healthy and happy dog in the end. Thanks again Garry and Marilyn! Loads of pretty pictures are in this post.

This post came with a video of our first vacation to Hope and the Othello tunnels, as well as a message. It just felt really great to be home with no more reasons to run away.

Another fun party had us bringing along our rustic projects this round. I just fell in love with Show & Tell's door coffee table. So unique and so very country indeed!

We tested out a little dancing on the wii system this round. A short video along a great tune that was on the game shows how much fun it is to dance with a Smurf. :)

The all new FOLK magazine that is debuting Sept 1st finally revealed their gorgeous cover. And the winner for a year's worth of FOLK this round is...

#139 Gill from the United Kingdom! Congrats Gill! Wow, FOLK is going a long long way this round. FOLK will be in contact with you shortly!

67 linkups to date offer up unique ideas to put your fresh blooms and greens in. The above delightful photo are mailboxes turned up on their ends by A Southern Belle with Northern Roots. The entire post is loaded with exceptionally original ideas.

We ran off one more time to Harrison Hot Springs for a little beach experience and ended up with so much more. Finding a junk filled campsite was right up my rusty alley! Another pretty picture heavy post.

When I landed this incredible giveaway, it did more than load me up with pretty things. It made me feel special at a time when I just really needed a little lift. Come and see what I all got from the very generous and talented Jeanne Oliver!

a ruffled messenger bag like the one I'm wearing!
Giveaway event will run until midnight Sat Sept 3.

TOP REFERRERS FOR AUGUST - THANKS!

And a very special thanks to these wonderful blogs that send traffic my way. :)

And a very special thanks to all of you that continue to take an interest in what goes on around here! Here's to a great Sept loaded with lots of new inspirational projects and stories. :)
