A new year of challenges have started over at Joan's Gardens. You must go over and see the beautiful card Joan design for her Joan's Garden's Thursday Challenge and get all the details so you can participate.
The image I chose for this card is from the Heartfelt Creations "Clematis/Cottage PreCut Set". Part of the challenge was to use a bird or animal and since I love birds, I chose this design. It was stamped and colored with Copic markers then cut out with a Nestabilities Label 8 die. A larger die was cut out of lavender card stock to frame the design. I used a paper piercer to go around the edge of the frame. The background behind the birds was chalked with yellow. Part of the challenge was to use a floral background. The design paper I chose is from the Kaiser Craft "Lilac Avenue Collection" paper pad and has a "funky" type flower. I thought maybe I should dress it up a little so used some of the flower punches Joan sells to create a clematis for my embellishment. The thing I did that is kind of out of my comfort zone is to do some sewing on my card. I used green thread and it doesn't show up very well.
I hope you will go over and check out Joan's beautiful card. She used a new Tim Holtz die that I must order. There are two challenges this week at Joan's Gardens: A tag challenge and the regular Joan's Garden's Thursday Challenge. Hope you will join us in the fun for a chance to win a prize.
