Joan's Tag Challenge #2

Have you joined in on the fun Tag  Challenge at Joan's Gardens?   I want to congratulate Cathy Willet for receiving the most votes on her tag last week.   This week Joan posted a gorgeous tag using the new Graphic 45 paper, Springtime paper.  Be sure to go to Joan's blog to see her tag and read about the second  challenge.

I am loving the tag challenges because I always need a tag for something.  I can't believe it, but my oldest son turns 50 next week -- yikes,  I can't even believe I am older than that!  I am mailing his gift to him today and this is the tag I will put on it.

I started out with a shipping tag purchased from Joan's Gardens.  I took a piece of newspaper and tore around the edges of a sports article, wrinkled it up and ran it through the Zyron machine, and attached it to the tag.  Using different Tim Holtz Distress inks, I sponged several shades of brown inks over it.   The lighthouse is from the JustRite "By the Sea" stamp set.  I stamped it twice with brown ink on ivory card stock.  One image was trimmed around the border and the lighthouse was cut out of the second image.  These were also sponged with the Distress inks.  The lighthouse that was cut out was attached with dimensional tape over the one on the larger image.

The "celebrate" is from the JustRite stamp set "Just A Note".  I used scissors to cut around the design and attached it with dimensional tape.   Several pieces of fibers were tied in the hole at the top of the tag.  It is always hard to make masculine tags/cards, but I think my son will really like this one.

Hope you will join us in the tag challenges.
