I actually got a Halloween card done! I'm more into Christmas than Halloween. But 'tis the season.....to go Trick or Treating. And that is the theme for the challenge at Magnolia Down Under Challenge for the next fortnight--Trick or Treat. This is my DT card. Please hop over there and check out the other creations of the very creative and talented DT gals. We also have Bloomin' Pages as our sponsor for this challenge, with a very adorable Alota Christmas stamp (I sure wouldn't mind getting that one, LOL).
Before I move on with my card, a few more challenges to mention that I am using this card as my entry to. It seems that Halloween is a very popular theme this week.
A Spoon Full of Sugar -- Challenge 72 Halloween
Simon Says Challenge -- HALLOWEEN!!! BOO!!!!!!
All Sorts Saturday -- Challenge #22 Halloween
Stamp with Fun -- Challenge #27 - clear foil
I did a lot of improvising for this card. I don't have too many Halloween stamps in my collection, but enough to make this card it seems. First off, I don't have a Halloween or witchy Tilda. So I chose this Magnolia Tilda with Apron. I saw this picture of the witch's hat on a sale flyer. Using a photocopier, I blew it up to the size I want then I traced it out by hand to a card stock.
The bench that Tilda is sitting on is the Magnolia Christmas bench. The bench comes with two huge holly leaves and three berries. I cut them out, but there was a bit of a leave left that I couldn't completely take out, so I haveTilda sitting on the bench to cover it up. Then added the pumpkin to balance the image.
You're going to love this one. I needed a window so I can use that clear foil for the challenge at Stamp with Fun. Take a look at the window frame, hee hee. I don't have window stamp! Instead I used a small-bench stamp that I have. I stamped 2 images. Then placed an upright bench on top of an upside-down bench. LOL.
The broom is a very late addition. If you look at my card at the MDUC blog, I didn't have the broom yet then, hee hee. I remembered too late that I do have the Magnolia Tilda with Broom image. I had to do some masking to get an image of the broom by itself.
This is the image behind the window. If you're familiar with my cards, I don't usually decorate entire pages in the inside, but in this case I needed to do so to create the night scene.
And since I did a full page on the right side, it would have looked funny if I didn't do the same on the left side, so I very simply decorated it as below. I left an area blank to write personal messages on.
Hmm, okay, I know the sentiment Trick or Treat doesn't actually fit my card. I wanted a simple Happy Halloween, but didn't have the stamp for it, so had to make do. Oh well. Hope you like the card anyway. Thanks for stopping by to visit.
PS. Monday is Thanksgiving Day in Canada, so to all the Canucks, Happy Thanksgiving, gobble gobble! Woohoo, long weekend!
