Inspire-Me Tuesday~

Just feeling inspired by the amazing style of Heather Chadduck....again....some more. Thought I'd share a few images with you that I haven't shared previously. Love this lady's style. seriously.

Simply love this coastal/nautically inspired bathroom!

I love this chalkboard! It appeared before in her dining room and I loved it there as well. Outdoor lighting on the ceiling rocks! This is a look I'm going to have to try in our next house.

I have a crush on this color scheme. (Reminds me of my master bedroom.) And this lady loves numbers as much as I do...see the cute towels?

Simply lovely!

This view from her kitchen, through the dining room to the living room looks so comfortable I want to pop over for a visit...and you can see one of her numbered dining chairs...just love them!

This entry is perfection...I need to find me an old church pew.

A serene living room with grain sack pillows...mmmmmmmmmmmmm.

Pretty alabaster lamp, roses, ticking and toile. Perfect.

And my love of burlap makes me covet this light fixture. Wonderful!

Inspire-Me Tuesday~

Here's a fun and easy idea to give that little table that's hanging out in your basement a new lease on life.

This sweet little table below actually came from the family ranch where my father-in-law spent his childhood summers. The hubby and I inherited it from his grandma many years ago. I love it! It is a sturdy little thing that was probably made out of scrap wood at one point. I wanted to use it as a side table in our bedroom, but it was looking a little worse for the wear. I wanted to dress it up a little bit, so I just added some pretty tan linen to the top with nothing more than some upholstery tacks.

I cut the fabric a little larger than the table top.

Then all I did was fold the raw edges under and wrap the fabric around the table top.

I secured it on the sides with upholstery tacks. Making nice tight "hospital" folds at the corners.

That's it!

I didn't want to spend any money on this project so I just used upholstery tacks I had lying around, but I plan on dressing the look up even further in the future by purchasing the "rope" tacks to fill in the gaps - like the table in the inspiration picture. But for now I think it looks great!

Cozy Inspiration~

Since I was all caught up in my house staging posts...I neglected Inspire-me-Tuesday this week. Will you all settle for an Inspire-me Thursday post?

I got my new Serena & Lily catalog in the mail yesterday. I have praised Serena & Lily here on this l'il ole blog before....and I'll do it again!!! I loved their stuff when all they had was a line of children's bedding...but now that they have added bedding for grown-ups (like my 30-something self) my-oh-my!!! My latest Serena & Lily crush is this beautiful Ruched Quilt. I. am. in. love. Seriously.


I love white bedding, but the texture of this baby has me wanting to snuggle up with it and take a nap for an hour or two or three...mmmmmmmmmmm. And I really love the citrine green they've paired it with in this photo...so fresh and summery! (I wish New England would figure out that it is almost summer...I can barely get away with short sleeves most days! sigh.)

Okay, so I promised you all home staging...and I will deliver. But the Hubby and I spent all day yesterday painting, and the house was a mess...sooooooooo not staged to sell! Instead, I've got an inspiring New York farmhouse to share with you all care of Country Living.

Look at that porch! And those french doors! 'Nuff said.

Lovin' this chippy old hutch. And the touches of blue are so pretty.

Hands down my favorite image from this house. Check out the built in hutch. Be still my heart!

I'm sure you all know by now how much I adore numbers....on pillows and chairs in particular! But what I love even more is when one of my ideas inspires someone else! One of my dear readers, Tiffany at Happy Day shared a project that she made which was inspired by my numbered dining chairs...

Today I wanted to share these drool-worthy photos of a lovely "french flea-market" style cottage. Yeah, so they had me at the name..."french flea market" ...I'm sooo there. Hope you enjoy (and get a little inspiration along the way!)

This porch is too dreamy! Love the settee (and the pink rainboots)

Just love this bed. Might not be practical with a house full of kiddos, but the old chippy door for a base, and the old mantel for a headboard are beyond lovely.

Loving the white slipcovers and the grainsack upholstery, ticking, and of course, toile!

Sea glass has long been a favorite of mine. I love the colors!

I love all of the unexpected touches in this dining room. The oversized candelabra...the garden-style folding chairs, the big galvanized bucket of flowers, and the elegant chandelier! Beautiful!

Inspire-Me Tuesday~

I just love architectural salvage pieces! But sometimes I'm left wondering what to do with such goodies. In this month's edition of 100 ideas Flea Market Style by BHG, there were a couple of fun ideas for salvage pieces that I thought I'd share!


First up... Look at these awesome outdoor lanterns! Made from table legs and newel posts. So clever!

I especially loved this idea because it takes no work. zero. zilch. Just place an old, chippy piece of porch railing on your desk, and VOILA!~ a mail sorter. No work...now that's my kind of decorating!
